Sam Cross

Floyd “Sam” Cross, 85, a resident of Benton, TN passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018 at his residence.  He retired from Honeywell after 30 years of service.  He loved his grandchildren and Ford cars. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fate and Irene Mull Cross; son, Sammy Cross; siblings, Henry Cross, Viola Swann, Jack Cross and Burch Cross. He is survived by his wife, Janice Ice Cross; children, Mike (Melodie) Cross, Lois (James) Hicks, Liz (Carl) Haulk, Brenda Lawson; grandchildren, Tonya (Marlin) Waldroup, Bull (Stephanie) Cross, David (Jamie) Hicks, Jennifer (Chad) Maxwell, Mandy (Jose) Gerena, Felicia (Tristin) Hawkins, Faith (Jeff) Hicks, Jacklynn Lawson, Trisha Cross, Felica Cross, Veda Cross; 22 great children; 1 great-great child; siblings, Bill (Polly) Cross, Roy (Ruth) Cross, David Cross, Charlie Cross, Betty (Don) Couch, Johnny (Tina) Cross.  Several nieces, nephews and extended family members also survive. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. on Monday, November 19, 2018 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Lee Ingram and Reverend Carl Haulk officiating.  Interment will follow in Benton Memorial Gardens.  A white dove release ceremony will conclude the services.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2018 at the funeral home prior to the service.
