Donald “ Shorty” Ledford

Donald Ledford, 80, of Benton, TN passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at a Cleveland healthcare facility.  He loved to hang out with his buddies at the corner, eat at Hardee’s and Lottie’s and watch TN Vols and Atlanta Braves baseball.    

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Lee Ledford and Alma Lee Smith; siblings,  Alvin Ledford, Doris Hennesse, Barbara Borema, Virlyn Ledford. 

He is survived by his daughters, Donna (Timmy) Burnette of Dalton, GA and Kellie (Johnny) Duggan of Benton, TN; grandchildren, Jacob Evans, Dustin Godfrey, Jeremy Pryor and Summer Duggan.  Several nieces, nephews and extended family also survive.    

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Higgins Funeral Home in Benton, TN with the Reverend Chad Denton officiating.  Interment will follow in Benton Memorial Gardens.       

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2018 at Higgins Funeral Home. 

Pallbearers are Jacob Evans, Dustin Godfrey, Jeremy Pryor, Jack Freeman, Timmy Burnette and Mike Raybe; honorary pallbearers are Dewey Trentham, Tom Ellis, Ronnie Pruitt, Bob Milen, Ronny Lightfoot, Dewey Brown, Mark Patton, Bret Carver, T. Stevenson, Joe Hedden, Harry Pettit, John Darty, Tom Darty, Doyle Patterson, Ricky Craigmore, Dewayne Patterson and Curtis Biggs.
