Mary Lou Stewart

Mary Lou Stewart, 87, of Delano, TN passed away Monday, January 15, 2018 at her residence.  She was “the best cook in the world” and loved to sew.    

She was preceded in death by her husband, Allie G. Stewart; parents, Virgil and Sophie Weaver Nelson; brother, C. L. Nelson.

She is survived by her sons,  Wayne (Rhonda) Stewart, Benjamin (Audrey) Stewart, and Michael Stewart; grandchildren, Allan Stewart, Jr., Chris Stewart, Jada Pritchett, Mikey Stewart, Brendan Stewart, Kristen Jones; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Ridenour, Aileen Hatfield, Wanda (Lee) Keele.  Several nieces, nephews and other extended family members also survive.

The family expresses a special “THANK YOU” to Avalon Hospice for their care.   

Funeral services will be at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home in Benton, TN with Reverend Joe Hatcher officiating.  Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 18, 2018 in Coghill Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. 

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at the funeral home prior to the service.
