Marilyn Taylor Ross

Marilyn D. Taylor Ross, 93, a former resident of Benton, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017 at a healthcare facility in Sevierville, TN.  She was a homemaker and long-time member of First Baptist Church of Benton, TN.  She read her Bible through 14 times and taught Sunday School to 6-7-8 year olds for 25 years.  She loved being involved in Happy Hearts of First Baptist Church.  In her younger years she painted dishes at Southern Pottery in Erwin, TN.    

She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, John W. Taylor; parents, Jefferson and Ivah Baker Davis; siblings, Gene Davis, Rod Davis, Margaret Lowe and Billie Lloyd.  She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Chester Ross.    

She is survived by her daughters, Debbie (Steve) Smith of Turtletown, TN, Dana (Tim) Fleeger of Seymour, TN and Joy (Ron) Ramage of Englewood, TN; grandchildren, Sarah Smith, Andrea Millsaps, Ashley Bell, Mark Smith, Amber Heifner, Kendra Allen, Randall Allen; 9 great-grandchildren.      

The family expresses a special “THANK YOU” to the staff at Dominion Senior Living  in Sevierville, TN for their loving kindness and care. 

Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Benton Memorial Gardens in Benton, TN with Reverend Tim Fleeger officiating. 

The family will receive friends from 1:00 –3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Higgins Funeral Home prior to the service.
