Larry Edward Jenkins
Larry was retired from Mayfield Dairy Farms and had served as the School Resource Officer at Polk County High School.
He was of Baptist faith who loved his country, his family, Polk County football, working in his yard and on his trucks.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Burton and Genora Patterson Jenkins; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Joseph Ledford; brother, Glen Jenkins; sons, Larry Edward Jenkins II and Travis Jenkins and father-in-law, Roy Burns.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Darla Burns Jenkins of Delano; beloved son and daughter-in-law, Burt and Leslie Jenkins of Etowah; grandchildren, Larry Jenkins III of Murfreesboro, Hannah and Blake Witt of Athens, Savannah Jenkins and Blake Johnson of Etowah and Burt Jenkins of Loudon; great-grandson Baker Johnson; siblings Bobby and Sula Jenkins, Gloria and Bobby Johnson and Vicki and Lynn Bryan, all of Delano; mother-in-law, Mary Burns and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 9, 2017 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Dr. John Powers officiating. Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 in the Delano Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
