John Hubbard, Jr.

John Hubbard, Jr., 53, of Delano, TN passed away Thursday, August 3, 2017 as the result of a truck accident in McMinn County.  He loved spending time with his family and his grandchildren.  He was a great mechanic and had a “Heart of Gold”.  He was employed by Garner Construction and Excavating.    

He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen Newberry and father John Hubbard, Sr.; sister, Susan Davis Golden; brother, Steve Hubbard.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 10 years, Sissy Hubbard; son, James Allen Hubbard of Delano, TN; step-children, Christy Dalton of Reliance, TN, Nicholas (Kayla) Thompson of Benton, TN, Michael (Christy) Thompson of Ocoee, TN; brothers, Larry Hubbard of Etowah, TN, Chuck Davis of Washington state; grandchildren, Hannah Dalton, Michael Thompson, Daisy Dalton, Josh Thompson, Kylie Dalton, Sydda Dalton, Kaitlyn Stevenson, Kelcie Stevenson, Samuel Thompson, Nicholas Thompson, Allen Hubbard, Kyle Hubbard.  Several nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends also survive.

Funeral services will be at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Higgins Funeral Home in Benton, TN with Reverend Marvin Morgan officiating.  Interment will be Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Morgan Cemetery, Reliance, TN.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at the funeral home prior to the service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Thompson, Danny Ownbey, Chuck Garner, Mike Poteet, George Krenner, Acie Key.  Honorary pallbearers are Darell Moore and Clyde Herron.
