Marion "Cotton" Evans

Marion Kimsey “Cotton” Evans, 69, of Benton, TN entered into his Heavenly home on June 9, 2017.  Marion fought a lengthy battle of cancer and spent his last days in the home of his daughter.  Cotton owned and operated Evans Septic Tank Service for 47 years, CNC Cabins and most recently co-owned Evan’s Car Wash with his grandson, Evan, whom he dearly loved.  He was a member of Welcome Valley Baptist Church.   

He enjoyed working and restoring antique tractors but especially spending time with his family.     

He was the son of Tim and Louise Evans and was preceded in death by his father; granddaughter, Emma Renner; sister, Helen Wilcoxon; maternal grandparents, Jimmy and Bertha Bishop Clark; paternal grandparents, Mark Evans and Esssie Qualls Shelton.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years as of August 29, 2017, Carolyn “Connie” Trew Evans; daughter, Nikki (Jimmy) Renner of Charleston, TN; grandson, Evan Renner; mother, Louise Clark Evans; brother, David (Wanda) Evans; sister, Tanna Evans all of Benton, TN; brother-in-law, Sterling Wilcoxon of Old Fort, TN.  Several special nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and a multitude of good friends also survive.   

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Monday, June 12, 2017 at Higgins Funeral Home in Benton, TN with the Reverend Chad Denton and Reverend Carl Haulk officiating.  Interment will follow in Benton Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.    

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Higgins Funeral Home in Benton, TN and Monday, June 12, 2017 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.

Serving as pallbearers will be A.J. Piper, Jeff Ward, Barry Kincaid, Daniel Willis, Bo Moorhouse, Stan Moorhouse, Randy Evans, Mitch Pankey and Moe Moses.  Honorary pallbearers are Jeremy Blackburn and Fred Wilcoxon.
