Rassie “Laddie” Harold Clayton, 79, of Benton, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at his home after a lengthy illness. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed the outdoors. He was a member of the Shriners’ Ocoee Lodge 212 and Scottish Rites. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Clayton and Anzlee Qualls Rogers; grandmother, Belle Qualls; sisters-in-law, Brenda Clayton, Beulah Clayton and Imogene Brunk; and brothers-in-law, Joe Green, Huel Hooker and Clarence McAllister. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mary McAllister Clayton; mother-in-law, Florence Duckett; son, Greg Clayton and wife, Misty; daughters, Rhonda King and husband, Darrell and Kim Moorhouse and husband, Stan; sisters, Mary Green, Carolyn Waters and husband, Dennis, Faye Hooker and Myrtle Lawson and husband, Charles; brothers, Junior Clayton and David Clayton; grandchildren, Hunter Clayton, Lana Woodward, Brice Moorhouse, Abigail Moorhouse, Corey King and Logan King; and several nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. The funeral will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2017 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend Kinzel Hooker and the Reverend Charles Campbell officiating. The interment will follow in Zion Cemetery with Bruce Rymer, John Bramlett, Roger Evans, Mark Evans, Larry Lewis and Tim Hicks serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. His family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Friday.
