Barbara Lewis Wade

Barbara Lewis Wade, 74, of Benton, TN passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016 at the family residence.  Her first love was her family.  She was a nurse for 56 years and her career was her passion.  She adored and loved caring for her patients.  She was a cat lover and a craft enthusiast.  Barbara was one of the original organizers of the Chilhowee Mountain Harvest Festival.      She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Allen and Bennie Keith Crye Lewis. She is survived by a husband of 53 years, Jerry Dean Wade; daughter, Tracy (Jim) Childs; son, Todd (Terri) Wade; grandchildren, Meghan Jenkins, Kelly Childs, Susanne Hopkins; 2 great grandchildren, Miss J and Noah; brother, Robert Lewis.  Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Higgins Funeral Home in Benton, TN. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at the funeral home prior to the service.
