Leon Bradford

April 29, 1941 — October 20, 2016

 

Leon “Don” Bradford, age 75, a well-known dairy farmer in Polk and Bradley Counties, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, October 20, 2016.  He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Delano.  

 

He was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Essie Mae Bradford; sisters, Christine Hicks, Ruby Harbison, Evelyn Steele and brothers, Bill Bradford, Carl Bradford, Freddie Bradford and Neal Bradford.

 

He leaves behind his loving wife of 51years, Cheryl Bradford; three children, James (Lynn) Bradford, Michelle (Brian) Bruton, and Steven (Tracie) Bradford; grandchildren, Ryan Patterson (fiancée Victoria Cylvick), Keisha Patterson,  Paiton Bradford, T.J. (Jessi) Bradford, Christian Brock, Madison Bradford, Johnathon Poteet, Autumn Poteet and Cassie Rodriguez; great-grandchildren, Addyson Bradford, Adia Bradford, Caden Lingle, Savannah Rodriguez, Casslynn Rodriguez, Skyla Scriven and awaiting the arrival in March of Gracie Bradford; siblings, Nora Black, Bettie (Floyd) Eaves, Claude (Phyllis) Bradford and Harley (Judy) Bradford; sisters-in-law, Laura (Rhea) Ford and Debbie Douglas; brother-in-law, Ralph (Faye) Schmook.  Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

 

Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 24, 2016 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Sheriff Steve Ross and the Reverend Mike Exline officiating.  Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday October 25, 2016 in Old Ocoee Cemetery with Jim Bradford, Ryan Patterson, T.J. Bradford, Josh Bradford, Brad Bradford and Freddie Hicks serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dewey Ramsey, Dewey Woody, Bill Cross, Dale Rymer and E.L. Pankey.

 

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home prior to the service.
