Janet Chapman

Janet Shelton McTaggart Chapman, 65, a resident of Cleveland, TN went home to be with the Lord August 29, 2016.  She passed away at her daughter’s home in Cleveland, TN.  Janet was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She’s a native of Benton, TN but lived in Pasadena, TX for 20 years.  She worked many jobs over the years, a seamstress at Carwood, an exterminator, a sales associate at Western Auto and a CNA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Annie Patterson Shelton; brother, Gene Shelton; nieces, Pamela Lane, Jeannie Kaylor; nephew, Eddie McTaggart.

She is survived by her daughters, Sherry (Benny) McTaggart Villanueva, Vicky (Troy) McTaggart Cannon; grandchildren, Chris (Lara) McTaggart, Judy (Josh) Villanueva Hembree, John (Jessica) Cannon, Bridgit Villanueva, Jospeh Villanueva, Amber (Ann) Cannon; sisters; Johnnie Sue Walden, Judy (Eddie) McTaggart; brother, Ricky (Angie) Shelton; special friends, Anna and Buddy Bumgardner.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.   

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2016 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Old Ocoee Cemetery.  A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at the funeral home prior to the service.
