J.D. Rymer

J. D. Rymer, 83, of Delano, TN passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at his residence.  He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church and loved his pastor. He was a good husband and father and loved his community.  He was always helping others and freely gave his time to those in need.  His garden was his pride and joy and was a true outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing.  He was a man of few words but when he spoke everyone listened. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, William G. and Flossie Price Rymer; brothers, Alvin, Floyd and Clyde Rymer; sister, Shirley Harvey.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Mary Ruth Rymer; sons, Odean Rymer, Steve Rymer; daughters, Gail Higdon, Sharon Hicks, Joyce Wade; step-son, Brandon Russell; 14 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; sister, Willie Mae Knighton; brother; Jeff Rymer.  Several nieces and nephews and many special friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend Pete Morgan officiating.  Interment will follow in Delano Cemetery.  A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. 

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Higgins Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers are Steve Rymer, Gary Harvey, Chris Rymer, Drew Rymer, Shane Ledford, and Tim Wilcox.
