Kenneth Bandy, 81, a resident of Benton, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2015 at a Cleveland healthcare facility. Many people knew him as "Bandy". He was a man of great courage who served his country for 20 years including three tours in Vietnam and his community as Polk County Sheriff's Deputy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Nell Moorhouse Bandy; parents, Hugh and Hazel Hensley Bandy; brothers, Max and Jim Bandy. Survivors include his children, Becky (Ken) Mirabella, Vance (Janet) Moorhouse all of Delano, TN and Tom Moorhouse of Cleveland, TN; grandchildren, Vanessa Martin, Tyler Moorhouse, Nichole Rogers, Nathan Mirabella, Bethany Triplett and Guy Triplett; great-grandchildren, Stephanna and Grayden Martin , Emma and Noah Rogers. The funeral will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend W. L. Shipman officiating. The interment will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 in Benton Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at the funeral home. Active pallbearers will be Tyler Moorhouse, Nathan Mirabella, Josh Boley, Chris Rogers, Jody Webb and Vic Chastain. Roy Keith and Mike Stone will serve as honorary pallbearers.
