Melvene White

Melvene Susan Ledford White was born to Mamie and Melvin Ledford on July 30, 1938 in Greasy Creek, TN. She went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 5, 2015. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents, 8 sisters and 1 brother. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Mel White; children, Rickey Lee (Marla) White of Lawrenceburg, KY, Sharon Ann (Darren) Greer of Kingsley,MI, Vickie Sue (Cliff) Donachy of Cleveland, TN, Melvin Randy (Lisa) White of Indianapolis, IN, Karen Marie (Greg) Lockwood of LaGrange, GA, William Robert (Jackie) White of Virginia Beach, VA; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 2 sisters; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2015 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, Benton, TN with the Reverend Darren Greer officiating. Interment will follow in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends from 12 - 2 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2015 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers; Matthew White, Aaron Fishell, Joshua White, Dan Kucharczyk, Jonathan Donachy, Timothy White.
