Mary Ruth Daugherty, 90, of Charleston, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 5, 2014 in a local health care facility. She was a member of Chilcutt United Methodist Church and a former member of Benton Home Demonstration Club (FCE) for many years. She was well known for her ability as a quilt maker and served Bradley Memorial Hospital as a gray lady for 10 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pledger and Betty Shoemaker Hunt; husband, John K. Daugherty; two brothers, Kenneth and Clarence Hunt; and grandson, Joshua Sherrill. Survivors include two sons, Thomas Lee Daugherty and wife, Terri of Tullahoma and John M. Daugherty of Charleston; five grandchildren, Jennifer Zimecki and husband, David, Jason Smith and wife, Karen, Julia Daugherty, Jesse Daugherty and Joy Daugherty; great grandchildren, Nicolais and Logan Zimecki and Walker Smith; one sister, JoAnn Hunt Park and husband, Charles of Benton Station; one brother, Jerry Hunt and wife, Queta of Benton Station; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Danny Arp officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Herman Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 -3:00 p.m. on Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be made to: Mt.
