Billy Franklin Bishop, 80, of Ocoee, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was of Baptist faith and a member of Welcome Valley Church. He was a friend to all who met him. His favorite hobbies included reading, fishing and hunting. He was a gentle giant and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his father, Jay Bishop; mother, Climmie Lee Bishop; sisters, Shirley Kaylor and Bettie Lee Bishop; brother, Robert (Bobby) Bishop and son, Anthony (Tony) Bishop. He is survived by his wife, Esther Bishop; daughter, Cindy Park and husband, Nathan; son, Jeffery Bishop and wife, Patty; two step daughters, Donna Gail Whitener and Sherry Whitener; granddaughter, Sydney Park and great-grandson, Braxton Nelms; brother, Jerry Bishop and wife, Sharon. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, 2014 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend Chad Maxwell officiating. Interment will follow in Benton Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. His family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the funeral home.
