Jack Edward Allen, 57, a life-long resident of Benton, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 7, 2013. Jack was a person who always put other people ahead of himself. He was my best friend, wonderful husband and a Fantastic father and daddy to his children always encouraging them to excel and be the best that they can possibly be. He always wanted to please his dad and made sure his mother was taken care of at any cost. He was a member of Mercy Tabernacle, where he was a Deacon for 26 years. He also served as the cook in the Banquet House. He worked at Allen Manufacturing Chair Co. with his parents from 1968 till it closed in 2000. He enjoyed watching movies, reading newspapers, and supporting Polk Co. and Tennessee Vols sports. If Tennessee was involved he would be cheering and wearing orange proudly. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Lewis McMahan; mother in-law, Lorene McCann; grandparents, Jessie and Lillie Allen and Joby and Ellie Hysinger; nephew, Anthony Bradford and stepbrother, Gary McPherson. He is survived by his wife, Wilma Allen; daughter, Bethany Allen of Madisonville; son, Joseph Allen of Benton; mother, Joyce McMahan of Benton; father, Jack G. and wife, Irene Allen of Benton; brothers, Mark Allen and wife, Teresa of Delano and Darrell Bates of Benton; sisters, Mitizie Creekmore and husband, Ricky and Terri Bates of Benton.
