Richard Spencer Randolph, 68, a resident of Benton and former resident of Cleveland, passed away, Monday, January 21, 2013 in a local hospital. He was of Baptist faith. He was a retiree of Bowater with 32 years of service and he enjoyed working with old cars. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Hattie Maney Randolph; son, Scottie (Moon) Randolph; sisters, Barbara Randolph, Loretta Melton, Evelyn Womac and brothers, Russell and Jerry Randolph. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Talley Randolph; son, Randall Randolph; step-daughter, Angie Crowder and husband, Lloyd Jr.; two step-grandchildren, Brody J. Lewis and Hannah E. Crowder, who was his pride and joy; sister, Charlotte Newman of Cleveland and brother, Melvin Randolph of Decatur. Several brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws and nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2013 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend Steve Ross officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
