William "Poley" McDonald, 68, a lifetime resident of Benton, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012 at his home. He was retired from Bowater after 37 years of service. He was also a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church in Cleveland. He was preceded in death by his parents, Austin "Sharp" and Betty Townsend McDonald; sister, Eunice Franks Howard; daughter-in-law, Renee Russell McDonald; and nephews, Bill Franks and Tim Musgrove. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Adams McDonald of Benton; son, Allen "Cotton" McDonald of Maryville; daughter, Amanda Frank and husband, Eric of Greasy Creek; grandchildren, Morgan, Dylan and Sarah Frank, all of Greasy Creek, who were the loves of his life; sisters, Betty Jo Musgrove, Jeannie Whittemore and husband, Jay and Diane Greene and husband, Gary, all of Cleveland and Sue Stone and husband, Roy of Benton; and several loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 30, 2012 at Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend Josh Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Old Ocoee Cemetery. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
