Martha Ann Rogers, 83, of Benton, passed away at her home on Monday, April 16, 2012. She was a faithful member of Zion Baptist Church until her illness. She was a homemaker most of her life devoting herself to her family. She enjoyed traveling, doll making, sewing and cooking. She was well known for her apple stack cakes and fried apple pies. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Kate Brown Ramsey; sister, Dorothy Bates; brothers, Hoyt, Pete, Sonny and George Ramsey, Jr.; and a great-granddaughter, Namya Wooten. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Eugene (Bunk) Rogers of Benton; children: Gena Rymer and husband, Bruce; Gary Rogers, Glenn Rogers and wife, LaMeesa, all of Benton; and Kathy Silvers and husband, William of Old Fort; grandchildren: Carmen and Randy Ray, Rachel Cross, Chris and Nichole Rogers, Emily Silvers, Jessica Silvers, Marina Rogers, Samuel Rogers, Amos Rogers, Oliver Rogers and Molly Rogers; great-grandchildren: Michael Ray, KayLeigh and Miguel Gomez, Carlee Cross, Emma and Noah Rogers. Her caregivers from Caris Hospice of Athens and Guardian Home Health. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at Zion Baptist Church with the Reverend David Peters, the Reverend W. L. Shipman and the Reverend Jimmy Cheatham officiating. Interment will be on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in the Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Pallbearers will be Glenn Rogers, Chris Rogers, Randy Ray, Samuel Rogers, Amos Rogers and Oliver Rogers. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at the church prior to the service.
