Naomi Dillingham Shell

Naomi Dillingham Shell, 78, a resident of Reliance, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2012 in an Etowah healthcare facility. She was a member of Greasy Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Shell was formerly employed by Woods Memorial Hospital and South Polk Elementary School. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Maude Lowe Postelle husbands, James Dillingham and Ernest Shell; sisters: Barbara Stoops; Wanda Green; Evelyn Poteet and Catherine Breeden. Survivors include her children: Mitch Dillingham and wife, Carolyn; Marvin Douglas Dillingham; Stacey Akin and husband, Jerry; and Shane Shell and wife, Juanita; all of Polk County; eight grandchildren: Glenn Dillingham; Justin Dillingham, Cody Dillingham; Belle Shell; Gabe Shell; Kyra Akin; Madison Akin; Christy Dillingham; 1 great grandchild, Chasity Cross; 3 sisters: Gwen Shell; Peggy Cyree; and Annette Pack; 1 brother, Jack Buddy Postelle; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2012 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend Terry Daniels officiating. Interment will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2012 in Greasy Creek Cemetery with Glenn Dillingham, Justin Dillingham, Cody Dillingham, Christopher Emmons, Cory Hayes and Derrick Bates serving as pallbearers.
