Mildred Rogers Tatum, 82, a lifelong resident of Benton, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2012 in an Etowah hospital. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cass Elmer and Irene Bates Rogers and husband, James Sanford Tatum. She is survived by her children, Kathy Johnson and husband, John of Summerfield, FL, Linda Robinson and husband, Arlis of Benton, Rita Tatum of TX and James Tatum and wife, Angela of Cleveland; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; brothers, Charles Rogers of Etowah and "Pap" Rogers of Benton; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Minister John Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
