Myrtle "Kricket" Farley Langley, 63, a resident of Spring Town, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2012, at her home. She had lived in this area for seven years and was formerly of Rome, GA. She was a member of North Rome Church of God and was involved with the Men & Women of Action with the Church of God. She was an inductee in the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Honor, as well as a board member and promoter of the Armuchee Bluegrass Festival, and a member of the Southeastern Bluegrass Association. She was preceded in death by her father, Mack Farley. She is survived by her husband, Chuck Langley of Spring Town; two daughters: Hope Martin and Eve Langley, both of Rome, GA; mother, Evelyn Farley of Austell, GA; two brothers: John Farley of Austell, GA, and Mack Farley, Jr. of Conyers, GA; sister, Patricia Hampton of Austell, GA; adopted sister, Nita Thompson; and three nieces and one nephew in Georgia and several outside of Georgia. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend Douglas Maxwell, the Reverend Eddie McSwain, the Reverend Aaron Farley, the Reverend Charlie Bain and Phyllis Cole officiating. Her family will receive friends from 4 - 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
