Winston "June Bug" Newton, Jr., 81, of Polk County, passed away Friday, December 30, 2011. He was retired as a line worker from General Motors. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Winston Newton, Sr. and Thursa Price Newton; brother, R. L. Newton; and sister, Willie Mae King. He is survived by his wife, Beulah Tucker Newton of Ocoee; children, Allan Newton, Nijuana Newton and Leila Newton, all of Wichita, KS; stepchildren, Juda Peter and husband, James of Springboro, PA, Walter Summers, Jr. and wife, Flora of Ocoee, Juanita Sanislo and husband, William of Ocoee, Elsa Gabriel of Chardon, OH, Mona Hubbard of Rock Creek, OH and Evelyn Nemec of Ocoee; 10 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sister, Mary Kate Johnson of Chattanooga; and brothers, Cotton Franklin and Fred Franklin, both of Cleveland. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend Johnny Hood officiating. Interment will follow in the Newton Family Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
