Ruth Shelton Raymond, 74, of Benton, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2011 at her residence. She was a homemaker and attended Smyrna Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Raymond; parents, Lake and Meda Pendland Shelton; son, Roger Raymond; and siblings, Grady Enriques, Evelyn Kinser, Emma Frase, Bill Shelton, James Shelton and Betty Ciucci. She is survived by her children, Robert Raymond of Chattanooga, Randall Raymond of Benton and Maria Kaylor and husband, Darrell, Denise Satterfield and husband, Tony and Sheryl Frase, all of Cleveland; grandchildren, Shane Hancock of Cleveland, Roger Raymond II of Benton, Renee Raymond of White, GA, Savannah Sullivan of Riverview, MI and Cailin Satterfield of Cleveland; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday December 28, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend Carl Duckworth and Minister Beth Ochoa officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with James Shelton Jr., David Shelton, Billy Shelton, Darrell Kaylor, Jesse Ochoa and Joe Kinser serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
