Rebecca Etheleen Rymer, 98, of Benton, and a resident of Bradley Rehabilitation and Healthcare, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 17, 2011. She was the oldest remaining member of Zion Baptist Church of Benton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur O. Rymer; parents, J.C. and Martha Godfrey; sisters, Pearl Evans, Bonita Loftis, and Bernice Evans; brothers, Hoyt and Luke Godfrey: and an infant daughter. Survivors include her children; Margaret Denton and husband Don of Knoxville, Sam Rymer and wife Janice, and Bruce Rymer and wife Gena, all of Benton; grandchildren Dick and Jeff Denton, Leigh Anne Heffington, Paula Harbison, Krissy Howard, Carmen Ray, and Rachel Cross; 11 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one sister, Barbara Kerr,; brothers-in-law, Ray Loftis, and Jim Rymer and wife Marguerite; and sister-in-law, Jimmie Rymer. The funeral service will be held Monday, December 19, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. at Zion Baptist Church officiated by Reverend W. L. Shipman and Reverend Jimmy Cheatham. Interment will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dick Denton, Phillip Heffington, Cliff Denton, Gene Howard, Greg Harbison, and Randy Ray. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Zion Baptist Church.
