Joy Seaberg, 80, of Benton, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2011. She lived in Orlando, FL from 1948-1992. She worked for College Park Sun Bank in bookkeeping and research and retired after 18 years as Head Bookkeeper. She then went to work at Orange Bank in Winter Garden, FL and The Florida National Bank. Mrs. Seaberg moved to Benton in 1992 and in 1998 she graduated from Cleveland State Community College. She then worked at Cherokee National Forest in Cleveland on the Older American Plan. She was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald O. Seaberg; parents, Alvy and Ava Lewis Tennant; brothers, Robert Lewis Tennant, Al Tennant, Jr., Carl Tennant, Neil Tennant and Glen Tennant; and sisters, Ruby Lee Church, Rita Fox, and Patricia Cumberland. She is survived her children, Brenda Christian and husband, Jack of Benton, Cheryl Seaberg of Orlando, FL and Brian Seaberg of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Marcus Whittaker and wife, Shannon, Randie Mealor and husband, Teddy, David Christian and Robin Christian; great grandchildren, Teddy Ray, Annie Joy Mealor, Ross Whittaker, Harley Cantrell, Chase Christian, Laura Christian and Cameron Seaberg; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Pine Ridge Baptist Church with the Reverend Richard Mason and the Reverend Paul White officiating. Interment will follow in Delano Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday at the church prior to the service.
