Ted Plumley, 70, of Polk County, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2011 at his residence. He was of the Baptist faith. He was affectionately known as Papaw. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Nola Wilson Plumley; brothers, Archie Plumley, Cecil Plumley and Ed Plumley; and sisters, Dovie Pike and Elsie Farner. He is survived by his children, Zack Plumley and James Plumley, both of Cleveland, Jackie Elliott and husband, Jackie of Old Fort and Sammy Blackwell and Nola Blackwell, both of Benton; four grandchildren, Jessica Elliott, Jaclyn Elliott, Raymond Plumley and Nicholas Burger; great grandchildren, Teddy Elliott, Noah Elliott, Allee Elliott, Johnny Russell and Jayden Elliott; brother, Gene Plumley of Farner; sister, Bessie Womble of Farner; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend David Bowers officiating. Interment will follow in Pike Cemetery in Calhoun with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
