Judy Rogers Evans, age 60, a resident of Benton, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2010 in a Chattanooga hospital. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Elsie Hicks Rogers; brothers; Buddy Rogers, Norman Rogers, and Odean Rogers; and one sister. Survivors include her husband, Roger Evans of Benton; children: Mark Evans and wife, Tracy; Leslie Evans and Randy Evans all of Benton; grandchildren: Mallie Evans and to be born in December Kenly Ann Evans; and one brother, Jasper Rogers and wife, Gladys of Dalton, GA; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2010 at Zion Baptist Church with the Reverends David Peters and Jimmy Cheatham officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Church Cemetery with Howard Lovell, Rayburn Green, Chad Prueitt, Gary Silvers, Johnny Bramlett and Don Wilson serving as pallbearers. Jr. Clayton, Skip Rogers and John (Burr) Lewis will serve as honorary pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. Her family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 7, 2010 at Higgins Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
