Carl Jenkins

Reverend Carl Jenkins, 55, of Benton, passed away Monday, July 19, 2010 at his residence. He was a member of Welcome Valley Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Minnie Lou Thomas Jenkins; and brothers, Warren Jenkins and Walter Jenkins. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Jenkins of Benton; children, Anthony Jenkins and wife, Ginger of Old Fort and Jennifer Jenkins of Cleveland; grandchildren, Sergie Matias, Carmella Esquizel, Autumn Jenkins, Bettany Jenkins, Brett Wilcox, Blake Wilcox and Beth Wilcox; sisters, Betty Kersey of Cleveland, Billie Sullivan of Ocoee, Edna Hugh and husband, Johnny of Tunnel Hill, GA, Linda Cochran and husband, David of Cleveland and Judy Frazier and husband, Charlie of Ocoee; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Welcome Valley Baptist Church with the Reverend Lee Ingram, the Reverend David Bowers and the Reverend Charles Moore officiating. Interment will follow in the Jenkins Family Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.
