Edward John Tucker

March 26, 1936 — June 19, 2010

Edward (Eddie) J. Tucker, 74, a current resident of Benton, passed away June 18, 2010, at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born in New York, NY. He was a parishioner of St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church in Cleveland. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, an avid fisherman, loved camping and traveling with his wife and family. He was retired from Ford Motor Company, Green Island, NY where he was employed as a machine oiler for 27 years. Ed has touched so many lives with his wit, wisdom, warmth and genuine compassionate nature. His unconditional love and loyalty to his family, was and is his greatest gift to his family. He will be greatly missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Peter Tucker and Florence Ann Hutchinson Tucker. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Patricia Green Tucker of Benton; daughter, Susan Tucker Johnston of Wellington, FL; sons: John Tucker and Matthew Tucker both of Benton; seven grandchildren: Matthew Tucker of Middle Grove, NY, Heather Tucker Pena of Waterford, MI, Nicole Tucker of Vero Beach, FL, Matthew Tucker, Jr. of Albany, NY, Dylan Moore, Cori and Evan Gonzalez of Wellington, FL; five great grandchildren; sister, Patricia Tucker Pace of Troy, NY; brother, Robert Tucker and sister-in-law Louise Tucker of Cleveland; and fourteen nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church with Father Peter Iorio officiating. Pallbearers will be John Tucker, Matthew Tucker, Robert Tucker and Thomas Johnston. Immediately following the service, all are invited to the Tucker residence to share precious memories and celebrate the life of this very special man. His family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Higgins Funeral Home. The family suggests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
