Thelma Hurt McClary, 83, of Hemet, California, passed away Monday, May 3, 2010. She grew up in Ocoee, TN and graduated from Polk County High School. After high school she attended and graduated from Mars Hill College in North Carolina. She made her home and raised her family in California and had lived there most of her life. She retired as a medical transcriber. She was preceded in death by her parents, Winston and Pearl Cloud; brothers, Eugene Cloud, A.J. "Bud" Cloud and Frank Cloud; sister, Edith Cloud Pritchard; husband, Zorum Hurt and husband, Hugh "H.M." McClary. She is survived by her daughter, Robin Henderson of Hemet, CA; son, Richard Hurt of Petaluma, CA; sister, Ina Kagle of Cleveland; three grandsons; one granddaughter; two great grandsons; and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Cookson Creek Cemetery with Dr. Robbie Speights officiating. A family gathering will be held at Cookson Creek Baptist Church following the interment. Higgins Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
