Charles Edward Qualls, 53, a resident of Benton passed away Saturday morning, November 28, 2009 in a local hospital. He was a dedicated employee at Whirlpool for 36 years. He was the son of Marie Qualls and the late Jack Qualls. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, grandmother, father, one brother and two sisters. Survivors include his loving wife of 32 years, Kathy Ann Wooten Qualls of Benton, one son, Charles Robert Qualls and wife, Hope; two grandsons: Hunter Qualls and Kaden Qualls; one daughter, Elizabeth Qualls Irvin and husband, Joe; two granddaughters; Ashley Irvin and Jacklyn Irvin; mother, Julia Marie Qualls; sisters: Mary Jane Cross, Sheila Wog, Phyllis Cross and Lisa Ward; brothers: Jack David Qualls and Raymond Gary Qualls; mother-in-law, Elsie Wooten; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2009 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend Floyd Boggess and the Reverend Charles Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Benton Memorial Gardens with Whitey Jenkins, Joe Jenkins, Darb Carter, Delbert Jenkins, Randy Evans, Terry Stone, Jessie Carruth and Terry Jenkins serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, November 30, 2009 at the funeral home.
