C. L. Haulk Charles L. Haulk, 76, a life long resident of Polk County, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2009 in a local hospital. He worked as a carpenter in Polk County and surrounding areas for most of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Riley Benson Haulk and Callie Lucille Lemmons Haulk; son, Charles David Haulk; brother, R. B. Haulk; and sisters, Eva Nipper, Artie Dixon, Ruth Harbison, Lona King, Ida Lewis, Ethel Haulk and Lillian Haulk. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Cynthia "Ann" Rose Haulk of Benton; children, Carl Haulk and wife, Liz and Luther Haulk, all of Benton, Gail Wilcoxon and husband, Mac, Net Cronan and husband, Albert and Christy Prince and husband, Calvin, all of Old Fort, Bill Hicks and wife, Rhonda, Jane White and husband, Danny and Kim Hicks, all of Chattanooga; 21 grandchildren,; 16 great grandchildren; brother, Ray Haulk and wife, Linda of Charleston; and sisters, Jean Ratcliffe and husband, Bill and Bessie Duckworth and husband, Carl, all of Cleveland. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend David Bowers officiating. Interment will follow in Smyrna Cemetery with Jose Gerena, Jeff Hicks, Tristin Hawkins, Scott Martin, Andy Haulk and Logan Morgan serving as pallbearers. Josh Shelton, Anthony Bales, Clint Prince and D. J. Burgess will serve as honorary pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 2, 2009 from 5:30 - 8:00 at the funeral home.
