Betty Louise Rogers, 78, a life long resident of Benton, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2009 in an Etowah hospital. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Benton. She retired from the Polk County Health Department as a clerk. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill Dixon and Mary Bain Dixon and brother, C.L. "Tink" Dixon. She is survived by her husband, Leonard "Knot" Rogers; son, Sammy Rogers and wife, Marisol of Benton; granddaughter, Heather Michelle Rogers of Chattanooga; sisters, Dorothy Cochron and Helen Sanders, both of Chattanooga; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home of Benton with Reverend Jasper Woody officiating. Interment will follow in Benton Memorial Gardens. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 at the funeral home.
