Dovie Leona Culpepper

Dovie Leona Bain Culpepper, age 90, of Benton, died Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at a hospital in Bartlett, TN. She was a member of Benton First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Polk County Retired Teachers, and Retired from the Tennessee Department of Human Services, and taught Sunday school for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Louis " Cy" Culpepper; one son Bryan Culpepper; parents S.E. Bain and Annie Curbow Bain; brothers, Melvin Bain and S.E. Bain Jr.; and sister, Dollie Bain Hawkins. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Denise Culpepper of Bartlett, TN; two grandchildren, Brad Culpepper of Deltona, FL and Kelly Lee and husband Jason Lee of Bartlett, TN; three great grandchildren, Jackson Bryan Lee; Emma Kate Lee both of Bartlett, TN; Andrew Bradley Culpepper of Deltona, FL; one brother, Clyde Bain; and one sister, Dorothy Bain Carson. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home in Benton with Reverend Robbie Speights officiating. Interment will be held on Friday, June 5, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in Benton Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at the funeral home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Benton First Baptist Church, building fund.
