James Arvel Flowers

James "Jim" Arvel Flowers, 59, was born May 20, 1950 and went to meet his Lord on May 29, 2009. He was a long time resident of Cleveland. He worked for many years at Maytag, Jackson Chair, mowed and plowed gardens for Scoggins Bushog and the last few years he worked for Beaulieu of America. He was always known as a hard worker and will surely be missed by all who loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arvel William and Mary Lee Wright Flowers and one brother, Bobby Flowers. He is survived by a daughter, April Derrick and husband, Michael of Tasso; a son, James Flowers and wife, Jo of Old Fort; three grandchildren; two brothers, Roy Flowers and wife, Barbara of Cleveland and Ricky Flowers and wife, Elizabeth (Libby) of Charleston; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Evelyn Couch and her sons, Michael and Philip Johnson. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Pastor Frank Evans officiating. Interment will follow in Charleston Cemetery in Charleston concluding with a white dove release ceremony. Pallbearers will be Mike Scoggins, Darby Colton, Keith Pinson, Shawn Farris, Bobby Inghran and Chase Jones. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 29, 2009 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
