Ruth J. Jenkins Corvin went home to be with her Lord on Thursday February 26, 2009 surrounded by her loving family and caregivers. She was 94 years old and was born on September 19, 1914. She was retired from Bradley Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Dockery Heights Baptist Church. She was a precious mother and grandmother whose meek and sweet spirit touched all who were blessed to know her in this life. She was preceded in death by her husband Eli Corvin; parents, Napolean and Damarius Jenkins; brothers, Raleigh Jenkins and Mike Jenkins; sisters, Sally Jenkins, Hazel Hall and Cindy Haney; children, Lake Corvin and Charlotte Waters. She is survived by one brother, Jim (Bug) Jenkins and special cousin, Jane Anderson; six daughters and two sons: Shirley Frazier (special friend Dewayne McTaggart), Jo (Jim) Musselwhite, Sue (Don) Brown, Martha (Clifford) Swafford, Evelyn (Don) DeFriese, Raydale (Mary) Corvin, Twyla (Kenneth) McAmis and Carley Corvin; special caregivers, The Skyridge Hospice Staff and home caregivers Karen Cash and Mary Sue Baker; she was abundantly blessed with 32 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends 4-7 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2009 at the Higgins Funeral Home in Benton. The memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Floyd Boggess and Pastor Charles DeFriese officiating. Interment will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2009 at Benton Memorial Gardens with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.
