Naomi Gaby Woody, 84, a resident of Benton, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2007 in an Athens healthcare facility. She was a member of Keith Memorial United Methodist Church. She was very well known for playing on several ladies fast pitch softball teams.

Mrs. Woody was the daughter of the late Samuel A. and Rebecca Garber Gaby and was also preceded in death by her husband, Elmer (Red) Woody; three sisters, Edith Buttram, Lucille Watts and Ruth Clark; two brothers, Howard Gaby and Earl Gaby; two nephews.

She is survived by nephews: Alec Buttram, Hal Buttram, Tommy Gaby and Larry Shell; nieces, Cathy Atkinson, Elizabeth Hoskins and Becky Williams. She is also survived by one sister in-law Thelma Woody.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Hubble officiating. Interment will follow in Benton Memorial Gardens.

Her family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
