Bill Wilson, age 79, a resident of Oldfort, passed away Monday, December 19, 2005 in a Cleveland healthcare facility. He was a lifelong resident of this area and was employed with Lonas Construction for thirty years. Mr. Wilson was a member of Blue Ridge Temple Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Luther and Molly Davis Wilson and was also preceded in death by his wife, Edna Wilson, and several brothers and sisters: L. T. Wilson, Jack Wilson, Roy Wilson, Johnny Wilson, Lois Mantooth, Inez Crenshaw, Mildred Sparks and Vera Sue Wilson.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Don and Pat Wilson of Oldfort; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Edward Spurling of Benton; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Marshall and Betty Wilson of Oldfort; four sisters and their spouses: Frances and Willard Couch of Benton, Barbara and Bobby Kyle of Benton, Nina and Spence Prichard of Cleveland, and Charlotte Gibson of Cleveland; former son-in-law, Charles Price; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in Dill Cemetery with the release of a flock of white doves concluding the service. Spence Prichard, Charles Price, Steve Mowery, Mike Craig, Van Garren and Bobby Kyle will serve as pallbearers with Willard Couch serving as an honorary pallbearer.

His family will receive friends from 6 - 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
