Virginia Howard Wiley, 76, went home to her Savior on January 3, 2009. A former resident of Polk County, Mrs. Wiley moved to Oak Ridge in 1951 where she lovingly raised her family and was active in the PTA at Cedar Hill Elementary School. She was a member of Central Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Dovie Howard and brother, Roger Howard.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, James Harold Wiley of Oak Ridge; daughters, Dea Jones and husband, Robert of Clinton, Barbara Hitch and husband, Bill of Benton, Susan Story and husband, Bill of Nashville, Patty Hart and husband, Tadgh of Clinton; grandchildren: Melanie Harbison, Greg Howell Mike Hitch, Matt Hitch, Marc Hitch, Ian Phillips; great grandchildren: Christen, Jacob, Ethan, Kaitlyn, Madison and Emma; sisters: Joyce Moorehouse, Billie Ann McClary, Sue Campbell and brother, Ed Howard all of Polk County and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 8, 2009 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home in Benton, TN with Mr. Davis Hooker officiating. Interment will follow in Benton Memorial Gardens with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

Her family will receive friends from noon to 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
