Elmer Loyd Walden

Elmer Loyd (Coon Hunter) (Corn Bread) Walden, 65, a lifelong resident of Polk County passed away, Thursday, June 19, 2008 at his residence. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Mr. Walden was a retired boilermaker. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Benton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lular Walden; daughter, Patty McDaniel; brothers: L.C. Walden and Winston Walden; and sister, Friendly Utter.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Pearl Jean Walden of Polk County; son, Roger Walden and wife, Jeanna; daughters: Barbie Walden Miller and Sharon Suits; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sisters: Marilyn Eagerton and Edell Reedy and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 8 P.M. Saturday, June 21, 2008 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Green officiating. Interment will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday in Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

His family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
