Edward William Thomason

Edward W. Thomason, 71, a resident of Benton, passed away, Saturday, December 13, 2008 in a healthcare facility in Hayesville, NC. He was a member of Benton Church of God, the United Steel Workers and the Auto Racing Club.

He was the son of the late William Thomason and was also preceded in death by two sisters: Sharon Leah Thomason and Lillian Ann Johnston and one brother, Robert George Thomason.

He is survived by his mother Frances Stankevich Thomason, two daughters: Connie Sue Turor and Ann Sure both of Indiana and two sons: Bruce Thomason of Florida and Dennis Thomason of Indiana. Other survivors include two brothers: Alvin Eugene Thomason and wife, Pat of Indiana, Charles Walter Thomason and wife Sue of Cleveland and three sisters: Janet E. "Jan" Martin of Benton, Phyllis Jean Chambers of Indiana, Nell Maynor of Benton and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Herron officiating. Interment will follow in Old Ocoee Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
