Oscar Wade Shell, 73, a life long resident of Greasy Creek Community in Polk County, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, August 23, 2007 in a Cleveland hospital. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Shell was the son of the late Willie and Lydia Crane Shell and was also preceded in death by a son, Dennis Shell and a daughter, Deborah Shell; two brothers: Edgar Shell and Ernest Shell.
He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn Postelle Shell of Reliance; children and spouses: Robin Seay of Benton, Andrea and Garry Honaker of Reliance, Victor and Lisa Emmons of Reliance, Derriek and Stephanie Bates of Reliance; daughter-in-law, Tammy Shell of Jackson, Georgia; fourteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister and spouse: Lucille and Burch Cronan of Benton; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Terry Daniels and Reverend Paul Gregg officiating. Interment will follow in Archville Cemetery in Reliance.
His family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
