Edna Ruth Presswood

Edna Ruth Shaw Presswood, age 66, a resident of Benton, went to be with her Lord and Savior on "Mother's Day", May 14, 2006. She was a loving mother, grandmother, wife and mother-in-law. She was retired from M & M Mars after eighteen years of service and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Benton. Her parents, John and Pearl Shaw, preceded her in death as well as a brother, Bobby Joe Shaw.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Harold "Cotton" Presswood of Benton; two sons and daughters-in-law: Mike and Sherry Presswood of Englewood, and Mark and Tammy Presswood of Cleveland; her pride and joyfour grandsons: Waylon, Matthew, Dillon and Colby Presswood; four sisters: Ruby Fitch Barker of Cleveland, Edith Dawson of Sweetwater, Mildred Godfrey of Niota, and Beulah Vaughn of Sweetwater; two brothers: Tommy Shaw of Vonore and Benny Shaw of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Don Whitehead and Bishop Scott Cardin officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in Oak Grove Cemetery with Jason Campbell, Steve Campbell, Spencer Morrow, Johnny Raines, Tommy Guthrie and Kevin Lillard serving as pallbearers.

Her family will receive friends from 5 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
