Rev Jesse Glendon Martin

Reverend Jesse Glendon Martin, 78, a resident of Benton, went home to be with his Lord on September 7, 2007. He was born January 27, 1929. He was pastor of several churches in Oklahoma and recently retired as the pastor of Benton Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Franklin Martin and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Martin; brother, James Vernon Martin and a grandchild.

He is survived by his wife, Janet "Jan" Thomason Martin of Benton, children and spouses, Shelia Ann and Charles "Bud" Mulanix of Canadian, OK; Wanda Lee and David Scofield of Tulsa, OK; Sylvia and Bryan Losee of Cookeville, Connie and Doug Leeke of New Carlisle, IN; Jesse G. Jr. and Sandy Martin of Sparks, NV, Richard Wade and Suzie Martin of Newport News, VA, John Daryl Martin of FL; sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Robert Selvidge of Possum Grape, AK; seventeen grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2007 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend Jerry Herron and the Reverend Robert McConnell officiating. Interment will follow at the Old Ocoee Cemetery. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

His family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
