Margaret Biggs Loveday, age 75, a life long resident of Benton, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at the family residence. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Benton for 41 years. She had worked in the church nursery and was a care leader for the Ladies Two Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Benton Garden Club and supported the 4-H Club. Mrs. Loveday was the daughter of the late David Smith and Mary Kate Wilson Biggs and was also preceded in death by a brother, Joel Wilson Biggs and two brothers-in-law: Chestley Johnston and Erle Buckner.
She is survived by her husband, Curtis D. Loveday of Benton; one son and spouse: Terry and Jenna Loveday of Cleveland; one grandson, Ethan Loveday; one sister, Mattie Johnston of Oak Ridge; two sisters-in-law: Betty Biggs of Wyoming and Melva Buckner of Etowah.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Robbie Speights and Reverend Jasper Woody officiating. Interment will follow in Benton Memorial Gardens with Tim Johnston, Danny Biggs, Don Ledford, Dave Foote, Lawrence Boring, Tim McClary, Dave Milen and Bob Bryant serving as pallbearers.
Her family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and 1-2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service.
