Lucille (Headrick) Humphrys, age 94, a resident of Benton Station Community, passed away Monday April 17, 2007 at her home. She was the oldest member of Benton Station Baptist Church where she was active for many years in her Sunday School Class as well as the WMU. Mrs. Humphrys was the founder and owner of the Benton Manufacturing Company until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion Clinton Headrick and Lizzie Martin Headrick; husband, Floyd W. Humphrys; sisters and brothers: Willie Mae (Bill) Kinser, G.B. Headrick, Chassie Jeffries, Jessie (Jack) Murphy, Nell Casteel, Dot Armstrong, M.C. Headrick, Edith Maples and Edna Reed.
She is survived by one son, Charles C. Stone and wife, Dora of Harrison, TN and one daughter, Jeannette Cochran and husband, Bill of Benton; grandchildren: Anne and husband Byron Woody of Cleveland, LaRonda Cochran of Benton, Lisa and husband, John Miles of Benton, Billy (Hoss) and wife, Brandy Cochran of Benton; great grandchildren: Ashley Woody and Emily Woody of Cleveland, Jessica Miles, Alison Miles, Nattalie Miles, Harlie Cochran and Chloe Cochran all of Benton; brother, Julian (Scrooge) Headrick and wife, Alice of Cleveland; a very special sister-in-law, Jessie Humphrys of Benton and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Pastor Joel Jenkins and Reverend Guinn Green officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Benton Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.
Her family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
