Arlie Willard Hicks

Arlie Willard Hicks, age 65, a life long resident of Benton passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at the family residence. He was retired from Brown Stove. Mr. Hicks was the son of the late James and Velma Pike Hicks and was also preceded in death by a son, Allen Hicks.

He is survived by his wife Ocie Rhodes Hicks of Benton; children and spouses: Jeff Hicks of Delano, Denise and Earl McCormick of Benton, Rodney and Lucy Hicks of Englewood, Jackie and Mitch Lindner of Benton; step-children: Brandon and Valarey Brock of Ringgold, GA and Michelle Travillian of Dalton, GA; grandchildren: Phillip and Chassie Hooker, Daniel and Kelly Riech, Zack Hicks, Russ Davis, Amanda Lindner, Christina Hicks, Cody McCormick and Dustin Hicks; one great-grandchild, Lorien Riech; three brothers and spouses: James Hicks of Benton, Lake and Trudy Hicks of Benton, L.C. and Janie Hicks of Athens; three sisters and spouses: Clara and William Peels of Ocoee, Ruth and Rusty Mendenhall of Etowah, Edna and Jerry Freeman of Athens; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Pete Morgan officiating. Interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday in the Cambria Cemetery in McMinn County with the release of white dove ceremony concluding the service.

His family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
