Willard Jesse Hamby

Willard Jesse Hamby, 64, a resident of Benton passed away, Saturday, September 6, 2008 in a Chattanooga Hospital. He was a member of North Etowah Baptist Church and was a retired teacher with Polk County Schools.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lawerance and Lula Picklesimer Hamby.

Survivors include his wife Rebecca Quarels Hamby, daughter and husband, Tonya and Jim Woody of Benton; son and wife, Jesse and Jennifer Hamby of Brentwood, TN ; son, Jarrod Hamby of Benton; one granddaughter, Nakia Woody; one brother and wife, Marlin and Dianne Hamby of Cleveland and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2008 in the chapel at Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend John Bagley officiating. Interment will be Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the Mountain View Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
